Quest begins in 2012
The Kimberley Quest II departed from Broome on the 27th of March for her first 2012 cruise, the ‘14 Day Ultimate Quest’. Dramatic waterfalls, ancient rock art, pristine waterholes and the forever changing scenery were only some of the spectacular sights witnessed from Broome to Wyndham by all passengers and crew aboard.

Life in Broome has been very exciting for us the last three months as we have been moored in the creek at the historic Streeter’s Jetty in Chinatown adjacent to our office. Streeter’s Jetty is an icon of Broome and was where all the pearling luggers laid up when they returned with their wealth of pearls. The jetty has not been used since the late 80's until we arrived through the mangroves!
This latest venture has been a great tourist attraction for the township and not just for tourists but also for the locals. The vessel has now left to commence her first voyage of the season and we all wish her well as she continues to explore our rugged and pristine Kimberley coast.

Quest begins in 2011
In the evening on the 29th of March the Kimberley Quest II set off from Broome to Wyndham for her first voyage for 2011. After such an amazing ‘wet season’ with 724mm of rain recorded from January-February alone, the scenery was breath-taking with spectacular waterfalls on display, lush green vegetation and an abundance of wildlife.

Kimberley Quest II - Winners at the WA Tourism Awards
Pearl Sea Coastal Cruises were announced winners in the category of Ecotourism and silver medallists in Tour & Transport Operators at the Western Australian Tourism Awards on Saturday 21 November. The win sees Pearl Sea Coastal Cruises automatically entered in to the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in March 2011. We are very proud of our achievement and thank you all for your support.
  
New Cruise for 2011 – 6 Day Captains’ Quest
We have put our Captain’s knowledge and experience to the test and ask them to create their ideal itinerary along the Kimberley coast. Joining forces they have come up with an expedition that covers the places they love to explore and rarely have the opportunity to visit.
We are therefore very excited to announce this completely new six day expedition which delves into the hidden areas that highlight our Captains' love of the Kimberley. Exploring the area of coast between the Hunter River and Mitchell River which both seven day southern and northern cruises never encounter, this is your opportunity to share in the excitement and revel in new discoveries.

Recently Pearl Sea Coastal Cruises donated a cruise to the Royal Flying Doctor Service for the RFDS Flying 100 members and donors luncheon auction. At the event, the auctions takings helped the RFDS reach their $2 million fundraising goal which contributes towards their medical equipment fund and makes a significant difference to the quality of care given to RFDS patients.
We are proud that our long standing support has helped make a difference.

Sponsorship puts a smile on our face ...
Having just received information on our two sponsored children we couldn’t wait to introduce them to you. Avelino and Kadiatu, are both from Africa which we chose because of the drought, famine, poverty, disease and conflict.
ChildFund is purely a child-focused, not-for profit organisation that helps to provide the essential needs of communities desperately in need. Improving the communities general way of life they assist with nutritious food, improved water, education and access to healthcare.
 Avelino is a 5 year old Angolan boy. Angola being one of the poorest countries in the world, the community of Baia where he lives has no sanitary facilities and their water comes from a well. His parents income is simply not enough to cover their basic needs. With his sponsorship he will receive support in the areas of health, education and nutrition.
 Kadiatu is from Eastern Sierra Leone in Africa where malaria is a major disease due to the lack of access to portable drinking water and only 20% of the population is literate. Kadiatu lives with her grandmother who earns a meagre income of $160 per year. Through sponsorship, Kadiatu will be able to continue her education through elementary school.

 Pearl Sea Coastal Cruises Sponsor a Turtle
Pearl Sea Coastal Cruises are proud to announce their recent support of local Broome Wildlife Rehabilitation and Release organisation Chelonia. Chelonia is purely a volunteer organisation which specialises in the rehabilitation and release of sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.
In support Pearl Sea Coastal Cruises have sponsored a patient of the Chelonia program, a sea turtle by the name of Princess.

After spending Christmas and the New Year exploring Sydney, northern New South Wales and Queensland playing host to past passengers, travel agents, media and interested clients, the Kimberley Quest II is back in familiar territory cruising the Kimberley.
Proving to be as spectacular as predicted the Kimberley is certainly putting on a great show. Alive with colour and new life, the rugged gorges are engulfed with water cascading over their ancient escarpments. Masses of delicate flora flourish and dominate the landscape which is complemented by an abundance of bird life. Barramundi can also be found in large numbers just waiting to be caught by the avid angler.

The Kimberley Quest II is starting its adventure back to the Kimberley. Currently a world away from the quiet gorges, rock art, waterfalls and wildlife we discover along the Kimberley, it is discovering new landscapes as it ventures up the Queensland coast.
