Helicopter

Kimberley Quest II features a helipad above the top deck and many of our Kimberley cruises require guests to either embark or disembark the vessel by helicopter.

Helicopter transfers are provided from Mitchell Plateau to the Kimberley Quest II (or vice versa) by HeliSpirit in a Bell 206 Long Ranger and encompass a 30 minute scenic flight featuring the three-tiered Mitchell Falls and Mertens Gorge.

We choose not to keep a helicopter onboard for the duration of our cruise purely for noise disturbance reasons, however there are several places throughout your cruise that are perfect for aerial viewing or where there is the opportunity of a helicopter activity. There is the option of hiring a helicopter for the duration of your cruise.

Exciting helicopter adventures such as flying with your guide to the most inaccessible locations for activities such as viewing ancient rock art, fishing in billabongs that have never been fished before or scenic heli flights to see the amazing landscape from an aerial perspective can be arranged a day in advance. During your cruise the Captain will discuss helicopter opportunities with you and we will pre-arrange a helicopter to meet the vessel.

Note: 30 minute scenic helicopter flight over Mitchell Falls is included in our 8 day Southern Quest and 8 day Northern Quest only. Additional helicopter flights are subject to additional costs, payable at the conclusion of your cruise.
